Lessons after lockdown

Wednesday 6th June
Talking to my students today they all said that lockdown provided less distraction in class when on a google meet. The distractions when not connected were huge and it was easy to not be motivated.
Family time was a popular topic of discussion with students saying that they enjoyed time doing activities with whanau and having a slower pace to family life.
Students said that managing their time was a new skill that they had developed.
I asked the students what they enjoyed and the most part was family time and being able to pace their own learning.
Pacing their own time is a skill positively encouraged in Technology leading towards N.C.E.A and being able to effectively manage design briefs and making.
The overall feedback was positive and the effects of lockdown will have longer term effects on learning and how we deliver our subjects in the future.
